a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services,
this program supports a collaborative initiative between LICM,
Nassau County Health and Human Services and Family Court to
enhance the preventative and support services provided
by these agencies.

Size, scope and sustainability
have established KICKstart (Kids Ideas Create Knowledge), as a national model for sustained community outreach. Now entering its sixth year, the program serves children, families and teachers in four underserved school districts on Long Island.

In order to address the needs of local families with limited English proficiency, LICM created Juntos al Kinder/Together to Kindergarten. This English immersion kindergarten readiness program takes a holistic approach to acclimating the whole family to the culture of the classroom in the United States |
